Handle holes with a real job
The fastener channels make the scales serviceable after mud, water or hard use. In an emergency field build, they can also serve as controlled lashing points for fixing the knife to a suitable shaft as an improvised spear-like or extended-reach tool.

A complete field system—not an afterthought.
A good outdoor knife should be just as satisfying to carry as it is to use. Kephart’s fitted leather sheath follows the traditional spirit of the pattern while holding the knife securely and presenting the entire set as one considered tool.
From a club project to a knife people asked for
A classic re-read, not merely copied.
The project began when the RusKnife community asked Kizlyar Supreme to create a club Kephart. Once the idea became public, interest quickly reached beyond the forum. We kept the historical character enthusiasts recognise, then engineered the details for present-day production and use.

- Custom Micarta scales with serviceable tunnel fasteners that can be changed for conventional hardware
- Leather sheath inspired by the classic pattern, with modern positive retention
Those three handle channels are deliberately utilitarian. They give access to a scale system that can be disassembled, cleaned and maintained after demanding use; in a genuine field emergency, they also provide aligned points for secure lashing in an improvised spear-like or extended-reach tool.
The goal was not to decorate a famous outline. It was to preserve why that outline still makes sense in the field.
Recognised at its debut: Kephart received a diploma in the Tourist Knife, 90–120 mm, Series Production category at Blade on the Neva 2026—an early confirmation that its practical interpretation of the classic pattern impressed a specialist jury.

Is it an exact historical replica?
No. It deliberately preserves the classic character while using VG-10 Cryo, Micarta, serviceable fasteners and an updated sheath retention detail.
What does the snowflake on the blade mean?
It is Kizlyar Supreme’s marking for cryogenic treatment. The additional controlled low-temperature stage supports the heat-treatment route chosen for this VG-10 blade.
Why does Kephart have three holes through the handle?
The fastener channels make the Micarta scale system serviceable, so the handle can be disassembled, cleaned and maintained after harsh use. They can also act as aligned lashing points for an improvised field tool when circumstances genuinely require it.
