The knife was designed by American designer Jason Breeden, although you can hardly guess that from its distinctly oriental appearance.
The Whisper is an interesting combination of simplicity, beauty and practicality. All the lines are calibrated and laconic. The gently curved blade is interestingly combined with a rather austere handle. The clear diamond pattern on the overlays is reminiscent of the handle of a katana. But do not think that this is just a beautiful piece of jewelry.
- THOUGHT-out DESIGNThe long, straight primary bevels support controlled cutting and efficient slicing.
The 3D-machined G10 scales provide a secure grip, while the liner lock keeps the mechanism simple and reliable. Since the second-generation update introduced in 2021, Whisper runs on caged bearings for smooth, consistent opening.
A sakura emblem on the pocket clip completes the Japanese-inspired design—a practical folding knife with a distinctive identity.
- POWDERED SUPER STEELPremium powder steel M390 from Bohler-Uddeholm in Austria impresses with its properties - very high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance. It is considered the best in its class. It is produced using third-generation powder metallurgy and has a very uniform microstructure, which allows the combination of seemingly incompatible properties.
It is used only in high-quality knives of well-known Western manufacturers. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of imported goods, these knives come to Russia at very high prices. However, the Russian knife manufacturer Kizlyar Supreme makes knives from super steels affordable.
- LEGENDARY D2In addition to M390 super steel, the Whisper is also available in the excellent D2 steel. American D2 steel is known for its aggressive edge and excellent edge retention. Thanks to its 12% chromium content, it resists corrosion and requires minimal maintenance. D2 rightly takes its place in the premium segment of knife steels.
- BEAUTY AND ENDURANCEIn Kizlyar Supreme knives, we often use a very durable and high-quality material - G10 - to make the handles of some of our models. It is a thermosetting industrial layered material consisting of a continuous glass fabric bonded under high pressure with an epoxy-rubber mixture.
G10 exhibits high stability of physical properties when subjected to changes in many environmental parameters. It does not absorb moisture, resists very high impact, tensile and bending stresses.
