Ural guide
Clear answers about the convex edge, steel and handle choices, leather sheath and ownership.
Ural is a full-tang outdoor and hunting knife with a compact 117 mm blade, substantial 4.8 mm stock and a convex working edge. It is designed for controlled camp, field and practical hunting-preparation tasks.
A convex edge keeps more supporting steel behind the cutting edge while moving efficiently through wood and other outdoor materials. On Ural, this geometry complements the thick blade stock without making the compact blade difficult to control.
We have produced Ural in Sleipner, PGK and AUS-8. Sleipner balances wear resistance with toughness, PGK offers high edge stability, and AUS-8 combines toughness, corrosion resistance and straightforward field sharpening. Availability varies by production run and market.
Ural has been produced with durable G10 or Caucasian walnut handle scales. G10 provides strong dimensional stability through changing moisture and temperature; walnut offers a warmer traditional feel and individual natural grain.
Ural comes with a genuine leather sheath offering two practical belt-carry positions and a separate retention strap. The knife is covered by the Kizlyar Supreme warranty for the original owner; see the current terms for coverage and service details.
