BALLISTIC

The sheaths of a number of knives in the Tactical and Tourist series are made of ballistic nylon with a polyamide liner. Why ballistic nylon was chosen as the base and what it is in general.
Ballistic nylon is a durable, dense fabric material originally developed for the military. It was used for particularly stressed parts of equipment to reinforce them and increase their abrasion resistance. It was even called ballistic because it was the type of material used for flak jackets. Sewn in multiple layers, ballistic nylon was able to stop shrapnel and reduce the impact of a shock wave. It is essentially the predecessor of Kevlar.

The density of ballistic nylon ranges from 840 to 1,680 denier (D).

Ballistic nylon is now used in a variety of industries and is valued for its tensile strength, stretchability and durability. Durability, abrasion resistance, tight weave that does not disintegrate even if the fabric is damaged. Another important feature of this material is dirt resistance and slightly water repellent effect.

By protecting the polyamide liner with ballistic nylon, we increase the resistance of the coat to mechanical damage, make it noiseless (no knocking on impact) and completely remove the glare.

In addition, the Tactical Echelon and Outdoor Series lines are equipped with a very strong and dense stroma for attachment to belts and MOLLE discharge systems, and complete the sheaths themselves with additional modules.
